If you ask most people here in New York, the main things they would wish for are to be happy, healthy and make a lot of money to do the things and get the things they want.
Well, thanks to consultant and coach Maya Comerota – who is also a huge Broadway lover – you can have all those things and more by choosing to live your legacy instead of just leaving it behind.
The Levity Ball sat down with the female powerhouse to learn more about her views, how us New Yorkers can succeed forward, her programs and how she has helped over 1.5 million people worldwide live the life they love!

When did you first discover that you had a passion for helping others?
I was born wanting to help others. As a young girl I wanted to be a doctor and a Broadway singer. I wanted to heal and impact the world in a big way. I believe that deep down in all of our hearts we all desire to contribute to this world.
As a corporate executive in the biotech industry for 15 years, my coaching programs always had superior results to the other coaching programs. People’s lives transformed in the most incredible ways. They were more fulfilled, they made more money, they were happier and healthier.
When I saw the results that my coaching had on the lives of those that I served, I knew that this is what I was meant to do. There is no greater feeling than knowing that you helped make someone’s life more fulfilling, more successful and more meaningful.
How do you figure out if someone is a good fit or not for your program and mentorship?
The people that are the right fit for my programs are the people that know they are here to make a big impact on the world. They are not content with playing small. They want their dream more than they want their comfort. They are willing to take action on their dream and they are fully accountable to their results. Typically, when we discuss their current results in life, what they most desire and the challenges they face, that is a great starting point to see if we are a good fit for working together.
What are the main things that people do that lead them to failure from your experience?
The only time I have seen people fail is when they quit and they quit when they are focusing on the wrong things. Focus on your purpose, your why, your passion and keep making attempts, no matter how many times you fall down. It is the people that are not willing to dig in and be resourceful that fail. You have to be willing to fall down and try again, fall down and try again until you succeed. Failure cannot be an option. Those are the people who succeed.
When someone signs up to work with you or be a part of one of your programs, what can they expect?
They can expect their life to transform quickly. They will dream bigger, act bolder, think more bravely. They will take courageous action for their dream. We will very quickly identify where they are, where they want to be and the challenges that present themselves so we can create a strategic plan for crossing the thresholds that once held them back. When I work with people we drive results in their life immediately.
COVID-19 has hit us New Yorkers hard since the start. What advice would you give to those struggling during these times?
One of my mentors, Tony Robbins says the following, “tough times make strong people, strong people make great times, great times make weak people, weak people make tough times”. It is a cycle.
This season that we are in, it is a tough season, and it is the tough season that makes great people. Decide who you will be during the tough times. Decide, when this period/season is over, how did you show up during this time and will you be proud of yourself. It is easy to be strong when things are good and great. The tough times are when we build our character.
Additionally, surround yourself with great people and cultivate the power of your mind. Your mind controls your results. There is no greater power than the power of your mind. Learn to use it or it will use you.
What is the average cost of your services?
My flagship group coaching program is 10k and 15k. My masterminds are 20K and 1:1 coaching services are 35-50K. I have events throughout the year as well that are typically 297-497 for a 3 day event.
Have you seen an uptick in new people enrolling in your services since COVID-19 hit?
Absolutely, now more than ever people are leaning into their calling. They realize they want to create personal freedom. They don’t want to compromise their time, energy, joy, family, values. They desire more purpose, more passion and more prosperity and I am able to help them with that. They want results and fast and I am able to help them to create immediate shifts in their lives that lead to greater impact, influence and income.
Switching things up, when you come to New York yourself, what are your favorite things to do personally?
I love Broadway! You can find me going to all the shows, having great meals with friends & hanging out in central park. I love New York!
And final question: What do you want to be remembered for overall when people look back at you and your impact on this world?
I want to be remembered for changing people’s lives and making a big difference in the world. I want people to say, “not only did she leave a legacy but she lived it too” My dream is to impact 1 billion lives by the year 2031.
