Unlike those circus fortune tellers or tarot card readers that are on every corner who just want to make a quick buck off your good will, Medium Fleur is the real deal, a real-life version of that actor Haley Joel Osment in The Sixth Sense!
Growing up in Texas, Medium Fleur first discovered her gift at the age of four. All grown up these days, she calls Los Angeles her home, however travels around the world helping to bring closure and relief to her audiences, while also working as a teacher of intuition and helping others to hone their own abilities.
Now we know there are skeptics, and we were ones too, but The Levity Ball has done our homework and tracked down one of North America’s expert mediums who actually can connect people to their loved ones on the other side. Not only did we speak to individuals who have attended Medium Fleur’s shows, we also attended one too, and it was life-changing to the point that we just had to sit down with her to find out more about her mind-blowing abilities that quite frankly scare us a bit…
How did you first realize your talents as a medium and decide to do this as a career?
I was very young when I first started to see the spirit world. It was a part of my everyday life and I thought everyone could see what I could. When I started talking to my parents about people who had passed before my birth, they took surprised notice. I was able to give nicknames and personal details, so although my parents had no idea how to handle this, they knew I was not making up stories. All the same, I had a very normal childhood and managed to turn down my abilities throughout my teen years. At 18, I found myself attending UCLA as a pre-medical student. My abilities started coming back to the forefront, and I knew I had to figure out how to use them. I started doing readings while completing my degree and quickly fell in love with connecting people to their loved ones. It was amazing to see how life changing the readings could be for my clients. Once I graduated, I knew that working as a medium was my life’s calling and I have been connecting people to their loved ones on the other side ever since.
What did your friends and family think when you first told them what you could do?
I know it must have raised a few eyebrows when I became a medium instead of a doctor, but I have experienced unwavering support from my family and friends. I’m very grateful for their continuous support.
Did you encounter a lot of skeptics when you first started out and turned your talents into a career?
I still encounter skeptics! And, I love them. I think it’s important to have healthy skepticism. It is very valuable when people allow their own experiences to shape their beliefs.
What do you say to people who “don’t believe” in what you can do?
I respect their point of view. I am certainly not here to tell you what to believe, but I would love to give you an experience. I’m here to connect people to their loved ones on the other side. I am simply a translator. As a translator I don’t have all the answers, I just pass on what I receive.
What makes you different?
I am extremely rational, and my educational background is in the sciences. I’m interested in research and I am eager to understand the neurological process that makes Mediumship possible. Having done thousands of readings, I do have my theories. I would love to join forces with the scientific comment to put them to the test and gain a further understanding of the spirit world.
How do you spot a fraud?
Do your research. There are a lot of great mediums in the world, but as in any profession there are also scam artists. Getting a recommendation from a friend is a great place to start, as is looking up reviews. Always trust your gut. I believe everyone has intuitive abilities. If your gut is telling you to not to trust someone, you need to listen.
Have you ever been scared?
I often joke that I am much more frightened of the living than I am of the dead. The truth is, I’ve never been scared of a spirit person. In fact, it’s my experience that when we transition from this life to the next we become the best version of ourselves. We lose all fears, worries, and addictions that may have led us to live less-than-kind lives. On the other side, everyone feels good. Speaking with anyone in the spirit world fills me with a feeling of unconditional love. That isn’t scary!
Who are your role models?
I look up to Louise Hay, Eckhart Tolle, and the late Wayne Dyer. Each of these individuals have brought practical, useful spiritual practices to so many lives.
What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?
“Fear is the worst advisor”
You have worked with countless celebrities over the course of your career thus far… How does it feel to have high profile people trust you and call upon you to help them out?
It is a huge honor when anyone trusts you and looks to you for help. It’s a responsibility that I do not take lightly- celebrity or not. Doing this work I’ve learned that celebrities are just like you and I. We all love, we all experience loss, and we are all trying to be the best we can be.
What is one thing in the world you would change if you could?
There are countless things I would love to see change. Homelessness, bullying, and global poverty to name a few. Sometimes these topics feel very large to tackle, so I do my best to focus my efforts on my community and what I can do to make a difference. If I had to pick one, my attention would go to providing basic needs to everyone, such as shelter, food, and clothing. Lately this has brought me to Meals on Wheels and Midnight Mission in Los Angeles. I love these two organizations for the difference they are making!
When you are not speaking with ones who have passed over, what else do you enjoy doing?
My dog phoebe and I go hiking, I enjoy yoga, play the violin, and I’m attempting to learn how to surf. My new project is is gardening. It’s become very clear that I don’t have a green thumb, but the tomatoes have been very kind to me.
How can people connect with you to learn more and book you?
If it’s your first time experiencing mediumship, an audience show is a great place to start! During the show, I give messages from the other side to members of the audience. Upcoming shows are listed on my website at www.mediumfleur.com. I’ll be in Santa Barbara June 4th, Burbank on June 10th, and Houston on July 8th.
