Lollapalooza 2012 line-up has been announced, and it’s quite something, so be ready for a trip to Chacago’s Grant Park this August 3-5th. Some of the biggest acts is a reunited Black Sabbath, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Jack White, who is releasing his debut solo album later this spring.

At the Drive In is reuniting for some 2012 festival dates, but don’t expect any new songs. The group’s guitarist, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez has openly stated:

We’re not getting any younger and there’s been an offer of money every year, you’d be a fool and a politician to pretend that wasn’t part of it. Will there be a new album? No, no, no. At the Drive-In is more of a nostalgia thing. It’s songs we wrote when we were all in our 20s and we’re doing a couple of shows.

The souvenir and early bird passes have sold out. The only package available for all 3 days at the festival is the regular pack, available for a big chunk of change -$230. Though it is worth noting this price is consistent with previous years, which is welcome.

The festival will be a welcoming addition to Chicago-ites once again, with an excellent line-up and some intriguing developments within the artists themselves. Be sure to follow the acts on the line-up, and explore any new names that may have been on your backburner.
