The Honda Civic Tour 2012 is being headlined by Linkin Park and Incubus, with direct support from MuteMath.
Linkin Park is expected to release their fifth album, Living Things, due out June 26th. preorders for the record give you 8 unnamed remixes, as well as early ability to order tickets to the upcoming Honda Civic tour. Living Things is their fifth album for Warner Bros, and is a follow-up to 2010’s A Thousand Suns. This is there second collaboration with famed producer Rick Rubin. First single Burn it Down is available now, and offers you an idea of their new sound which mainstains experiemntation but is going back to their nu-metal roots most apparent in 2000’s Hybrid Theory.
Incubus dropped If Not Now, When? mid 2011 to modest success. it was the only release after a five year hiatus, there last studio album being 2006’s Light Grenades.
MuteMath released Odd Soul in late 2011 and it was a reinvention of their more traditional rock sound into something very garage blues. It should be interesting seeing their famed live show next to alt rockers Linkin Park and the funky Incubus.
Last year’s Honda Civic Tour saw Blink 182 headline alongside My Chemical Romance, with direct support through various legs by Rancid, Matt and Kim, and Manchester Orchestra.
This year’s tour seems to be on a much larger scale, but still expect a custom built Honda Civic car from the headlining band to be won fby a disgustingly lucky fan, or to be bought for millions of dollars anonymously underming the entire thing. We shall see.
