It has been a cruel summer indeed. And with the way the album ‘Cruel Summer’ is being delayed, it seems to be crueler than even they thought. Kanye West’s label G.O.O.D. Music has been formulating a shorthand list of key artists in the hip-hop and pop scene, and has now compiled the best of the best for a new album set for release September 18.

Just like Will Ferrell in “****** in Paris,” the album artwork is “provocative.” Featuring an angelic naked woman across a completely white-gray background, it recalls 2011’s Watch the Throne cover (West’s collaborative album with Jay-Z).

The track list for ‘Cruel Summer’ is still under wraps, but we expect features by the following artists:

Kid Cudi                     Mr. Hudson

2 Chainz                      Common

DJ Khaled                   Big Sean

Frank Ocean                Pusha-T

The only confirmed features are Kid Cudi, Big Sean, and Yasiin Bey. Of course, Kanye West himself is expected to be all over this thing. His recent string of appearances in songs like ‘Cold’ and ‘Mercy’ has been wildly circulated. Yet for those who find West’s ego too massive, the appearance line-up features some of the biggest up and coming names in the industry, and ‘Cruel Summer’ is an open celebration to the top of the hip-hop game.

Of course, for those who really enjoy West’s bloated ego, expect a new Kanye album for late 2012, and Watch the Throne 2 for early 2013.
