Slash, former guitarist of Guns and Roses and now solo artist, is adding the final touches on a huge second half of 2012. With his sophomore solo album Apocalyptic Love expected shortly, and a slew of 2012 tour dates, you should have no problem getting a taste of the quick-fingered guitarist.
Apocalyptic Love is set for a release May 22, 2012. Unlike his previous album that had a wide collection of singers from various genres, his sophomore album will feature vocals just by AlterBridge singer, Miles Kennedy. This stylistic choice is an interesting change of pace, and I can’t help but suggest that Slash remain his “band,” something else considering he applied only one singer.
Regardless, the album features 13 new songs, and leading the pack is previously released single “You’re a Lie,” a tour de force of intricate guitar lines and melodically-infused Eddie Vedder impression by the overall kind of not really impressive Kennedy.
